Things to Do Before You Sell

1. Pre-Sale Home Inspection. so you’ll be able to make repairs before Buyers become concerned and cancel their offer.

2. Fix It or Get Estimates. An old roof, dated carpeting, retaining wall…  Look around your house to see what needs improvement. Most Buyers don’t want to put more money into a home after buying! If not able to repair or update items prior to listing, estimates give an accurate sense of how much the needed repairs will be.

3. Warranties and Guarantees. Collect them on the A/C, appliances, and other items that will remain with the home.

4. Disclosure form. The State of WI requires Sellers to fill out a Real Estate Condition Report. Take the time to be sure that you don’t forget problems, however minor, that might create a liability for you after the sale.
